Unique art pieces & baby products for young families are available from my online shop at BoomBoom Prints.
In August of 2018, Aesthetics Inc. in San Diego purchased a SOFIA AND THE DREAM-MAKER print for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in CA. A few years back they bought a print for Children’s Hospitals of Minnesota. Love having my work added to the healing environment.
In the winter/spring of 2019, I’m teaching poetry to elementary school kids through Art-Start and Interact Center, activities made possible by Arts Learning grants from the MN State Arts Board. I have several ongoing elementary school partnerships, teaching poetry and mask-theater, and hopefully you’ll find me at the YA Conference at Bethel University in May. In the spring of 2018, I taught a series of workshops for intergenerational audiences through the Great River Regional Library system and hope to offer more classes in the spring of 2019.
In July-September of 2018 I exhibited my paintings at Wisdom Ways Center for Spirituality, and taught a poetry & bookmaking workshop in conjunction with the show. Both events were titled LOVE MEDICINE.
In July 2017, I was featured as the MN Woman’s Press cover artist and interviewed for the A DAY IN A LIFE series.
Four of my paintings appear in THE SOULFUL WOMEN CARDS, released by Blue Angel Publishing in Australia in 2016. The deck is a collection of oracle cards designed as a portal into the sacred feminine, aimed at awakening a woman’s inner guidance. The deck is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Work in Progress: In 2014, I was awarded a Next Step Fund grant by the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council to develop a wordless picture book. BELLA BLUE was born and I’m just about done, finishing up the last of 14 double spreads total. During the summer of 2016, five paintings from this project were exhibited at MCAD in a show titled IN WORDS AND PICTURES, highlighting thirteen Minnesota women artists.
Poetry News: My poem LONG AFTER THE CARDINAL SINGS is featured on a new bench in Phalen Poetry Park, designed by Meme Lloyd for the East Side Arts Council.
In May of 2018, my poem FIRST DAWN was part of the Duluth poetry project WORDY DANCING, a celebration of poetry through the movement of dance, presented by Duluth Poet Laureate Ellie Schoenfeld.
In May of 2018, Singers in Accord, a member-led choral ensemble from the Twin Cities, performed INSIDE OUT: Singing the Seasons of Life. The show featured songs and poetry, and a student of mine had a poem included that he wrote when he was in 4th grade. As his muse, I was given VIP parking and free admission to the show. The work of the muse tends to live underground, and this was a rare and heartwarming occasion to step into the light.
