I've opened an online shop at BoomBoom Prints, a new local venture with unique art pieces & baby products created by artists for young families. Take a look and pass the word.
GREETING CARDS are now available on demand using any of the artwork on my website. Contact me for more information.
All of the art on the website is now available for purchase in the form of fine arts prints, including CROW DIVINATION, a series of one-of-a-kind, hand-painted, gilded prints. Send me an email for a price list. Prices vary depending on the size of an order.
WHITE LEAVES, a book of tiny poems, a post bound book arts piece, is now available for purchase for $15 through The Center for Book Arts shop, Birchbark Books, or through me.
I'm the recipient of a Minnesota State Arts Board FY2016 Artist Initiative grant in visual arts. During the grant period, I will create the visual narrative, sketches and three pieces of final art of a wordless picture book that juxtaposes the indoor gardens of the Como Park Conservatory with the stark Minnesota winter. In conjunction with this project, I'm offering two free illustration workshops, one for adults in Nisswa, and one for families in the Twin Cities.
In the spring of 2016, four of my paintings will appear in the Blue Angel (Australia) publication of THE SOULFUL WOMEN CARDS, a collection of oracle cards designed as a portal into the sacred feminine, aimed at awakening a woman’s intuitive centre and inner guidance.
In 2014, I was awarded a Next Step Fund grant by the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, 340 artists applied, and 38 projects were funded. During the grant period I've developed a wordless picture book, BELLA BLUE, a playful narrative depicting Bella's wild imagination.
In April of 2016, I will be teaching a series of Bookmaking & Poetry workshops at the Children's Museum in collaboration with Susan Armington, a project funded by a MSAB Arts Learning Grant.
I've partnered with the East Side Arts Council to teach Peace Poetry in St. Paul during the 2015/16 school year, a program funded by an MRAC Arts Learning grant.
In the spring of 2016, I’ll work with Carol Sirrine, Executive Director of ArtStart, in collaboration with the St. Paul Public Schools, to teach poetry in a science-inspired program titled TOPS made possible by a MSAB Arts Learning Grant.
I will also teach poetry and art classes through ArtStart in preparation for the annual EcoArts Festival in May and through the NEA funded program READING THE LANDSCAPE.
Once again, I've partnered with InterAct Center to write poems and create masks with students at the Mississippi Creative Arts School in St. Paul, a program funded through a MSAB Arts Learning grant. The poems will be turned into song lyrics, part of a grand theater performance in the spring of 2016.
During the 2015/16 school year, I’ll work at two new schools: Hillcrest Elementary through COMPAS, thanks to an Arts Learning grant, and at Lake Harriet Lower School, where I will teach a PTO funded nature inspired poetry & bookmaking workshop.
I have several ongoing partnerships with schools in the Metro Area and Greater Minnesota, teaching mask-making, poetry, and book-making, and for over a decade, I’ve taught poetry at the May YA Conference at Bethel University.
In 2014, I was commissioned to create a Commemorative Portraiture Piece for the Theater Department of Marshfield University in Wisconsin. I created a large diorama, an art box, that consists of three layers of painted relief sculpture, now on display at the campus.
I was selected to create the Official 2013 Minnesota State Fair Commemorative Art! It is such a great honor to have the opportunity to create the poster for the largest fair in the country, and to be part of the rich community that surrounds it. Fine art giclee prints are available for purchase on request (18.5" x 16.5"). A write-up about the artwork appeared on MPR News, and you can also watch an interview and the unveiling ceremony in the video below:
I had four poems accepted for publication in issue #13 of The Ginosko Literary Journal.
One of my poems was accepted for publication in Pirene's Fountain in 2013.
